I know there are quite a few who don’t like Cheryl Brooks’ ‘Cat Star’ books. I, however, eat them up like chocolate bonbons and I’ll try to explain why. First, they’re very, very hot. They come incredibly close to, and sometimes pass over the boundry of, erotica. The series details the stories of a group of male aliens whose planet was destroyed in a war by a group trying to eliminate their species. Why? Well, likely because their ‘snard’ (and no, I won’t explain that…you can just guess!) causes explosive and continuing orgasms! So I’m guessing a planet or two of jealous men would be the culprits who’d want to be rid of men like that. Anyway, only a small number survived who were sold into slavery despite the bounty on their heads. Each book details the story of one (or two) of these men and how they find the woman meant for them.
There’s a good bit of humor, some fairly silly and some bitingly sarcastic, in these books. She parodies everything from Mickey D’s to classical music and I find myself snickering every time.
This book is about two brothers who found themselves the pet of a lizard queen (yes, you read that correctly). She ‘collects’ alien species but treats them fairly well. Unfortunately for these sex machines, they don’t and can’t ‘do’ lizards! But when the queen sends to earth for a female piano teacher for her daughter they hit the jackpot. Lots of sex, a coup, and musical revolution follow.
Cheryl Brooks can write sizzling sex, witty banter, and a tale that takes me away from all mundane issues. THAT’S why I like her books. “Rogue” pushes the boundary between a really hot romance and erotica since there is one menage scene. If this will offend or bug you…don’t read it.
