I’m torn on how to rate “Shadow Warrior”, an erotic anthology published in 2006 by Triskelion Publishing consisting of four connected short stories. While I enjoyed all four stories to some extent, I felt as if I were left hanging a bit at the end and that irritates me to no end.
The anthology is about four soldiers who were ‘captured’ and then experimented on by a shadowy group (that is NEVER actually fully identified). Then they ‘escape’ and each one is trying to figure out what happened to them, why, and how they can destroy the facility where the experiments took place, ‘Hell Hospital’. Each story is about a different soldier and the animal they become, literally, when triggered (and you NEVER get a full explanation of the trigger either) and how they learn to deal with their changes and find that special woman who can cope with their ‘other’. The stories are “Cougar” by Layla Chase, “Jaguarandi” by Betty Hanawa, “Black Panther” by Myla Jackson, and “White Tiger” by Delilah Devlin.
